Kāpiti Writers’ Retreat Scholarships

We’re aware that cost may be a barrier for some people and offer limited discounted and free places for writers who would like to attend but for whatever reason are unable to afford the full fee. This year, we are offering 6 scholarship placements to the 2024 Kāpiti Writers’ Retreat, taking place between 23 – 25 February 2024 at El Rancho in Waikanae.

If you are interested in contributing to our scholarship fund or assisting in covering the fees to make the Retreat accessible to more writers, please select Partner, Supporter or Benefactor when registering for the Retreat.

If you would like to apply for a scholarship place at the 2024 Kāpiti Writers’ Retreat, please complete the below form to register your interest.

If you would like to assist in running the event we are also looking for several volunteers. We can offer a free place to participants in return for your help over the weekend. The place includes participation in one of the morning workshops. Tasks include packing in/out, food preparation, setting up workshops or discussion spaces, managing the registration desk/book store, cleaning, and driving (only if you have a full license and are over 25). You can find out more about volunteering and register your interest here.

Feel free to email if you have other questions before signing up.

Please note applications close on 14 January 2024.
