Kirsten Le Harivel is a writer, program manager and founder of Writers Practice. She established the community in 2014, after finishing an MA in Creative Writing in response to a need she felt herself and saw in the wider writing community–for creative writing programmes aimed at practicing writers which also built lasting connections and collaborations. Alongside Writers Practice she programs the New Zealand Society of Authors workshops and conferences and looks after her two young children. Her poetry book Shelter came out in 2021 with The Cuba Press.
