    August 28, 2021
    10:00 am - 3:00 pm

A poem is a type of spell, using words to shapeshift and enchant. In this workshop we will explore, in writing, readings, and discussion, how poems cast spells through transformation, surprise, incantation, and evocation. On both days we will workshop poems in the afternoon.

What we noticed were pipistrelles:
cinder-like, friable; flickering
the place hained by trees
till the air seemed to quicken

Some feedback from participants in Lyn Davidson’s Poetry as Spell-Casting

This was such a stimulating workshop. I loved the poems we were given in the readings, and the writing exercises were great, generating some wonderful writing. Lynn is a generous and encouraging tutor – I’d recommend taking her workshops any time.

I love the opportunity to think in fresh ways about content and form, and workshop ideas with intelligent, generous, and creative people. Lynn Davidson’s faciliation was clever and engaging, with great ideas for further reading.

We're sorry, but all tickets sales have ended because the event is expired.
